Introduction to Triggered Emails

What are triggered emails?

Triggered emails are emails sent when a user performs a specific action. Hello Retail offers four types: abandoned cart, price drop, back in stock, and post conversion. Emails include personalized content such as product images from the cart or the shopper’s price drop list. This article focuses on abandoned cart and price drop as examples.

You can learn more about the four types here. Otherwise, go directly to each category for detailed descriptions:

Why should I use them?

Triggered emails help re-engage shoppers who would otherwise drop out of the funnel. Abandoned cart emails nudge high-intent users back to complete a purchase, improving conversion rates and recovering revenue.

Price drop notifications keep interested shoppers engaged and support micro-conversion goals like growing your email list. They remind users about products they follow and drive return visits.

How do they work?

Each trigger type has different behavior and data requirements.

Price drop notifications are part of the Hello Retail Wish List service. To use them, you must run the wish list widget on your site. When shoppers add items to a wish list, they automatically receive price drop emails when those items go on sale.

Abandoned cart emails are sent by Hello Retail and can be customized to match your brand and marketing rules.
