Content Banners
This guide is supposed to help you get the most out of our newest addition to the Retail Media Product that lets you add Designed Banners next to your Product Listings within your store. Either by creating them all by yourself or using AI to help you create them for you.
To fully get started with there are a few setup steps needed that need to be done once, for as long as you do not do any bigger changes to your store setup. You can find them at the end of this document.
Creation Flow
If you want to use AI to generate your Banners, you can easily do that by selecting a size that you want to start generating from.
Below that, you will be able to define some input for the image. This could be either a product that you have within your shop or a picture that you upload yourself to be modified for the banner.
Below that, you can select a few different styles that can be used as input for the image generated. We are constantly updating these styles to give the most flexibility for different settings.
Once set up, can add a prompt on the right side. This prompt will be used as input for the generation of your banner.
Some examples of good prompts could be the following:
Generate a banner including this Golf Bag, showing the text “10% off on Golf Equipment” in Times New Roman in Red, spread out across multiple lines with 1 word per line.
After this, we will generate the image for you, which will take a few minutes. After that time, you will be able to see the image in the UI. In case you are not happy with the result, you can add a prompt in the prompt section and click on refine, which will trigger a refinement of the provided image. In case you want to fully regenerate an image, you can do so by clicking on Generate.
If you are happy with the generation of your image, you can create the other versions for the different banner sizes by clicking "Generate all Sizes next to it"
NOTE: You can only save a campaign when you have added all the sizes that you have set up for all Banners to be shown correctly.
Below the editor for the Banner, you can set up the context in which the Banner should be shown.
You do that by providing some context for the banner. This is done by selecting some products that you have within your store. Below, you will then see what the specific product clusters are that these products are in. This means that the banner will be shown in contexts where these products would normally be shown. This DOES NOT mean that they will replace the product listing for that product within Hello Retail listings.
Finally, you can add a specific link to where the banner should be pointing. You can provide a URL that the Banner should link to.
Within a specific campaign, you are able to add multiple banners to be shown. These could have different contexts. An example for this would be a banner specific for women's clothes vs one for Men.
Below, you can use all of the Retail Media Specific settings that you know from Retail Media Product Campaigns.
Good to know
Banners can be used alongside your normal Retail media Listings. This means that when there is a banner campaign and a product campaign that they will be scored against each other based on both relevance to the context that is shown as well as the CPM value that is assigned to the campaign.
Prerequisites
To successfully create your first content Banners within Retail Media, there are a few things that you need to set up for this to work in the right way.
This includes:
Make sure that these banners can be accepted within your shop template
Define the sizes that are needed within your shop for Banners to be created.
Define Sizes
This is needed for us to provide the exact right images to the Hello Retail placements. This is mainly because you might show your products differently on different Hello Retail solutions, such as Search, Recommendation, Pages, or within Newsletters.
To find out the sizes that you have defined, you should follow the following steps for Search, Recommendations & Pages. :
Go to your shop
Find a Hello Retail Supported listing
Make sure that you selected 100% as the zoom factor for your browser
Right-click on the listing
Click on “Inspect”
Click on the highlighted button to the left
Hover over the element, making sure that the outermost outline of it is marked in the browser for you
Note down the number shown in the top right
After noting that down, we want to check the same thing for Mobile Sizes, which might be different.
Click the button next to the inspect tool to switch to mobile mode
Refresh the page by Clicking (CMD+Shift+R(Mac), CTRL+F5 (Windows))
Go to a Search, Recommendation Box or a Page and repeat this on Mobile
Repeat this until you have captured all sizes for your different setups.
For Newsletter Content, you can find the setup sizes within the platform
Navigate to Newsletter Content
Click on Designs
Note the different widths and heights that you are using
Finally, go to Retail Media → Settings.
Here you can create or update the sizes that you are planning on using. Give them a descriptive name without using any spaces or special characters. These are important as they will be needed within the next step.
Adapting your shop template
For your shop template to accept Banner Listing alongside products, there needs to be a few adaptations to your template. You need to make these adjustments in all of the features that you are planning on showing banners in. This includes some adjustments to the template of the Hello Retail Implementation for your shop.
Of course, our support team is happy to help you with the implementation of this adaptation, once you want to get started with this.
In case you have implemented a full API solution, there are a few more aspects that need to be implemented on your end, feel free to contact us for more information.
