In this guide, you can read and learn about how to utilize the Product Lookup function and how it works.
The Product Lookup allows you to find specific products in your portfolio and check how they are registered in the Hello Retail database. Thereby, you can check up on keywords, hierarchies or other meta-data associated with the product. You can read more about meta data here.
Through the Product Lookup function, you can also manage the visibility of specific products if you wish to exclude them in either product recommendations, search results or other services provided by Hello Retail. You might have a return label or other products that customers should be able to search for but should be excluded in product recommendations.
The following steps will show how to get to the product lookup function:
- Start by logging into your Hello Retail account. On the dashboard view, navigate to the left-hand side menu. Under the Configuration section, click on Data Setup to unfold the drop-down menu.
- Next, from the drop-down menu, click on Inventory. Click on the Lookup button.
- From this new view, you can then search for a product by inputting the direct URL from your webshop.
This picture shows step 3.
You can now change the visibility settings for each Hello Retail service that you subscribe to.
For example, suppose you looked up a return label. In that case, you can toggle the Recommendations, Trigger Emails, Newsletter Content, and Personalized Banners visibilities to off, so that Hello Retail will never display the return label in any of those services but keep the Search visibility on so that customers can still find it.
However, inside the Product Lookup, you are able to individually manage each product and determine whether you want to have this product shown or not within the 5 options. It is possible to toggle on each of them for that specific product.
Product Data Overview
If you scroll down on the same page, you'll see all the data that Hello Retail has registered related to the product. The data represents the data provided by you through the product data feed and how Hello Retail interprets that data.
If you find inconsistencies or want to add keywords or other data points, you must apply the changes to your webshop product database. Then the Hello Retail database will be updated as soon as the data feed is synchronized.
The feed synchronizes automatically but you can start a manual synchronization if you want to check any changes right away — you can see how to do that here.
