Abandoned Cart Design - Triggered Emails

Abandoned Cart Design - Triggered Emails

  • updated 1 yr ago

In this guide, we will go through the design for an abandoned cart trigger email. You should already have made a base design. If you have already made a base design, you are good to go.

Navigate to Triggered Emails > Designs and press New default abandoned cart design.

Start by inputting a name. There are good reasons for sending out more than one abandoned cart email, so you should be able to distinguish between them at a later point. The design we are making here is for an abandoned cart email that will trigger one hour after the cart has been abandoned, so I name it accordingly.

Choose the base design you want to use - you probably only have one.

Now you can fill out all the text boxes. You probably have some unique form of communication on your site, so here you can customize the content of the email to mimic that.

Be aware that in the example below, we are referring to a "Return to cart" button in the opening paragraph. Your webshop has to be configured correctly before that button will appear, so only refer to it, if you know it works. You can read more about it here, link.

You can also add a voucher code as a carrot for the customer to complete the order. You provide the voucher, so you need your shop system to support vouchers.

Save the changes, when you are happy with the abandoned cart content. You can also edit the code, if you wish to make more advanced customizations. You can always revert to the default if something goes wrong by pressing Reset layout at the top.

You can check the finished result by sending a test email.

Now that you have made a design, you can either create more abandoned cart designs, if you plan on sending more than one type. You can also continue to create designs for the other trigger types or setting up the trigger for the design you just made.
